MY NEWS:
I really picked up my riding this year and had lots of fun racing. I had one small setback in July with a bruised vertebra and a broken wrist. It was slow coming back after two months off, but I have been riding well, having fun, and building my confidence.
ABOUT ME:
I have been racing for 7 years in District 23. I got my first bike, a 2001 PW50, when I was 5 in the spring of 2002. My first race was that fall in the 50cc OI 4-6 class. In the 2003 season I started racing my PW but got too big for it and switched to a 2003 KTM 50 Pro Junior and the 50cc 4-6 class. I raced 27 races in 2003.
Throughout 2004, 2005, and 2006 seasons I moved through all the 50cc and 65cc classes and I raced a lot of races including D-23 MX races and a lot of non district MX/SX races.
In the 2007, I started the season off with a broken hand (my first injury which sidelined me from racing). Once I was able to start riding again in the summer I was not able to practice and race as much as I had in the past (due to many other factors) I was only able to race 5 different events in 2007.
In 2008 I raced 13 races on my 2008 YZ85. I started the year off slow but really picked up my riding in the late summer and was riding well and having fun.
In 2009 I raced 19 district races and finished 6th overall in the Supermin class and 7th overall in the 85cc 12-15 class.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
My competitive highlight was in 2006, winning the Minnesota State Supercross Series Points Championship in the 65cc 7-9 class. (I lead my very first race, got my fist 1st place and ended up getting on the podium 12 of the 14 races in the series for a consistent season and the 1st place overall.)
SCHOOL:
I am in the 8th grade. In 2009 I changed schools and now I am attending Schaeffer Academy. Schaeffer Academy is a Christian and classical school serving grades K-12 in Rochester, Minnesota.
GOALS FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON:
My basic goals year after year are to improve/advance my riding/racing skills and having fun.
So my goals for 2010 are:
1) Have fun!!!
2) Improve my skills; my main skills to continue to improve on in 09 are corners and starts
3) Get more variety, try new tracks, and race the Spring Creek Super Series
OTHER:
I also train in Tea Kwon Do and Judo, I am currently a red belt in Tea Kwon Do and a yellow belt in Judo.
